This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Auto Inspecto collects, why, and what choices you have. We built this platform for buyers looking at cars abroad and the Auto Experts who inspect them, and we try to collect only what we need to make that work.
Account data: email, name and optionally a photo. Auto Expert profile data (if you apply): bio, coverage area/location, phone numbers, social links. Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic analytics events (page views, clicks) so we can see what's actually used. We don't collect payment information — there's no payment flow on the platform. When something breaks, an error report is sent to our error-tracking provider (Sentry): the error itself, the page or route, your browser and your account id if you're signed in — never your email, phone numbers, cookies, request contents or a recording of your screen.
To run your account and sign you in, to show your Auto Expert profile to buyers if you have one, to moderate the platform (reviewing applications, handling reports), to keep the service secure (rate limiting, fraud prevention), and to understand usage so we can improve it.
An Auto Expert's phone numbers and social links are only shown to signed-in users — never to an anonymous visitor or a search engine. This is enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the page.
Some Auto Expert profiles are sourced from public business listings before the person has created an account ("unclaimed" profiles). If that's you and you'd like your listing corrected or removed, use the feedback icon in the header or email us — we'll act on it.
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. With your consent (the cookie banner on first visit), we also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the site's cookies in your browser.
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of infrastructure providers (hosting, email delivery, analytics, error tracking) who process data on our behalf under their own confidentiality terms, and we may disclose data if legally required to.
We keep account data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove your personal data except what we're required to keep for legal or security reasons.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, or to object to some processing. Contact us via the feedback icon in the header or by email and we'll respond.
We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll post the new version here with an updated date.
